KittyThis is Kitty. She got this name as she likes to smooch up to you like a cat and follow you around, she is one of our friendliest girls and likes to have scratches and cuddles any time you are in the paddock.
Our Girls
We milk 15 mixed breed cows on our 8.1ha farm. The herd is made up a mix of breeds from Freisan to Jersey and even a wee bit of Angus. Our girls are fed on a complete grass based system, supplemented by grass silage made on farm. We specifically choose each cow to ensure we are getting the best possible A2 Raw milk. Just the right amount of cream and they produce the right amount for our customers.
With a herd of this size, we know each and every one of our girls and their personalities. We calve throughout the year, to ensure we always have enough milk being produced for our loyal and regular customers. Every single calf born on farm, stays on farm, raised by mum's milk until weaning. Once weaning is reached, they then move onto another farm where they will stay.
Mrs MacMeet Mrs Mac she was named this because she came from Mr Mac’s farm. Mrs Mac will stand at the gate first thing in the morning to get her rump scratched but only first thing in the morning. She also has fun stirrings things up with the other cows and changing the order the cows go into the shed from time to time just to keep it interesting.
